Good morning from the shoreline.
Last week landed about as well as a week can: Stonington Farmers Market on Saturday, a hike through Barn Island, and a Sunday spent planting my first container vegetable garden while my daughter claimed an entire raised bed for a fairy garden. Hers came out better than mine.
We’ve got a cloudy Memorial Day weekend, but don’t worry, there is plenty to do inside this weekend.
A heads-up on something new starting next week: the Crew Experts Corner, a rotating series where someone from our area spends a few weeks sharing what they know and answering reader questions. First up is Garden Girl Suzie with summertime growing tips for our region, perfect timing if you're staring at a bare patch of dirt right now.

What's the deal with all these run clubs?
Something I've been trying to figure out: every week there's a new one. Posters around town, fliers in coffee shops, Instagram callouts. Whaling City Run Club, Lighthouse Coffee, I'm pretty sure Sift started one, a local church, a couple over in Westerly. If you've nearly been clipped on your morning walk, you know what I'm talking about.
